InfiNet Wireless announces new products to dramatically reduce deployment costs of wireless IP Video and Surveillance applications

London, 28th February 2011InfiNet Wireless, a leading global manufacturer and provider of carrier-grade wireless infrastructure solutions for Fixed Broadband Wireless Access (FBWA) and wireless connectivity, today announced details of a new product range specifically developed to minimise the cost of deploying  video-based public safety and transportation networks.

The new range of video-optimised wireless subscriber terminals, available as a part of the InfiMAN 2x2 and InfiMAN product families, enable the IP Surveillance video stream to be wirelessly transmitted back to the operations centre across a high-capacity broadband wireless network. Power is provided to  the IP camera through an integrated 802.3af-based  Power-over-Ethernet capability, supplied as a second Ethernet PoE port on the subscriber unit.

Aimed at IP Video surveillance applications, as well as Highways and Transportation networks, the new subscriber units will dramatically reduce deployment costs and installation time for remote camera locations, eliminating the need for additional cabling or camera power supplies. With their ultra-low radio power consumption, the new subscriber terminals will offer customers higher transmission power capability which will also prove practical for other applications where it is inefficient to lay data or power cables to remote or external locations – for example, the connection of remote video-screens for surveillance, video and data streaming to highway/transport information boards, and the deployment of PoE-based remote Pico-cell cellular base-stations and Wi-Fi access points.

InfiNet Wireless also announces the R5000-Mmxb family of products, that will form part of the highly successful InfiMAN 2x2  3.5GHz product family of high-capacity, point-to-multipoint products. The new base-station solutions are fully equipped with a new integrated 3.5GHz, 14 dBi flat panel sector antenna, further reducing the deployment cost of high-capacity point-to-multipoint broadband wireless installations The 3.5GHz product line also supports flexible channel mapping, including 3.5/7MHz channel width, and is designed to operate in the 3.4 - 3.7GHz band.

Kamal Mokrani, VP Sales and Marketing for InfiNet Wireless, notes:  “Our product releases are of significant importance to both our channel partners and customer base. The PoE product range will enable our partner base to offer new and cost-optimised wireless  technology solutions to a whole new segment of  security, surveillance, public sector and transportation customers, bringing them significant cost and operational support benefits when deploying  their remote networks and applications.”

The new products are available immediately and further technical details and specifications can be found on www.infinetwireless.com.
