InfiNet Wireless announces a new generation of subscriber terminals

London, 7th October 2013 - InfiNet Wireless - the leading manufacturer of fixed broadband wireless connectivity, has announced the launch of a new generation of subscriber terminals, adding to its existing InfiLINK 2x2 and InfiMAN 2x2 portfolio of powerful yet affordable wireless solutions. These new terminals are based on brand new hardware and software platforms, which effectively double performance and throughput, and at the same time allow users to optimise their valuable radio spectrum.

The new Smn and Lmn units, which can be easily configured in either Point-to-Point (PTP) or Point-to-Multipoint (PMP) topologies, and made available in a range of frequency bands from 3.4Ghz to 6.4Ghz, provide service providers of all types new alternatives for their ‘last mile’ connectivity, significantly improving performance thanks to their more powerful CPU’s (up to 100k packets per second), an important feature for the transfer of large data chunks as well as small data streams.

These new terminals are backward compatible with the existing InfiMAN 2x2 base stations, in all their variants, and can also be seamlessly integrated with the InfiLINK 2x2 product range for PTP applications. The new Smn and Lmn units are equipped with two Ethernet ports by default, with both ports independently configured in L2 mode switching or IP routing control device or data transfer. The second Ethernet port can also act as a “PoE out” enabler, which can feedback power directly to external devices such as cameras or other units in a daisy-chain type of configuration. Ease of installation and antenna alignment are ensured via the built-in LED display.

Simultaneously with this new generation of terminals, InfiNet has also launched an entry-level model of its high-performance InfiMAN 2x2 base stations, allowing end users and operators to significantly optimise their capital expenditures on network deployments which do not require expensive or over-engineered solutions. The new base stations will have an unprecedented price-performance ratio.

Andrey Koynov (CTO) for InfiNet: “We are continuing to increase our presence in the global markets, especially in the B2G and industrial sectors where our brand new solutions will allow wireless operators to offer services based on previously unachievable quality standards, coupled with our unique approach in designing wireless units which can function even in the harshest climates.”
