InfiNet Wireless, the global leader in fixed broadband wireless connectivity, recently held the 8th edition of the company’s annual InfiNet Club 2018, in Moscow, Russia. Bringing together over 100 attendees—a mix of partners and customers from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan— the one-day conference was designed to give the InfiNet team the opportunity to update attendees on company performance, discuss trends in the regional and global wireless communications market, share its strategic and commercial direction and unveil a range of new wireless solutions planned for 2018 and beyond.
The conference marked two milestones for the company. The first was the announcement of several brand-new InfiNet point-to-point (PTP) and point-to-multipoint (PTMP) product lines, developed specially for telcos, WISP and enterprise customers. Expected to be commercially available later this year, and be a cornerstone of the company’s growth for the next 3-5 years, the new product families include solutions in the millimetre-wave frequency bands that will increase the network performance several fold, in comparison with the current generation of wireless solutions, but remain simple in operation and affordable in price. This is made possible by InfiNet’s proprietary Octopus SDR technology, which allows InfiNet to maximize the solution performance by optimizing the spectral efficiency rather than increasing the amount of spectrum required by the system. In this respect, Octopus SDR sets a new record in spectral efficiency, by packing in much more data (per hertz) than previous iterations.
The second milestone was the launch of the new InfiNet Wireless Academy, an augmented reality educational platform aimed at seamlessly helping InfiNet's partners and customers with any query they might have related to the company’s various wireless solutions. Users can now easily access interactive training programs, live and recorded webinars, calendars of upcoming events, online courses, to name just a few.
Alongside presentations from the InfiNet's management team and engineers, InfiNet's partners also had the opportunity to share some innovative deployments of InfiNet technology in the region. Prominent among these was the successful deployment of an urban video surveillance system and wireless network for corporate clients in Estonia and a railway mobile wireless connectivity project in Kazakhstan that enables high-speed communication between moving vehicles at the mining pits and seaports in Russia.
Speaking about the importance of events like the InfiNet Club, to InfiNet’s continued growth, Roman Smirnov, Commercial Director at InfiNet Wireless, said: "We now hold a leading position in the wireless communications market in the CIS region, not only because it is our home market, but also because we have a robust product portfolio and a strong partner ecosystem that we can count on to execute. That being said, the market is evolving at a rapid pace and it is imperative that we constantly listen to our partners and customers and continue to deliver solutions that are on the leading edge of technology. Based on the conversations we have had with attendees at InfiNet Club 2018, around some of their biggest challenges and business requirements, and the feedback we have received on our latest innovations, I am confident that we have the solutions that will allow us to meet the most demanding applications. This is an extremely exciting time for InfiNet, our partners and our customers and I look forward to another year of mutual growth.”
